Quilt a Christmas Wall Hanging

In this class, participants will learn how to make a log cabin block Christmas wreath wall hanging using their own sewing machine, basic sewing supplies and purchased material. The cost for the class is $25, which includes the pattern. Participants must have some sewing or quilting experience. A supply list will be available soon. In the first class the participants will cut all the fabric for the blocks and learn to piece them. They will then have five weeks to finish the 9 blocks at home. In the second session, the participants will sew the blocks together and cut the material for the bow and borders and begin to sew them. In the third optional session in November, participants who have never assembled a quilt before will be shown how to layer the quilt top with the batting and backing and how to make a hanging pocket. They will also be given some suggestions for how to quilt and bind the wall hanging. Event Type(s): Adult Program Age Group(s): 18 and up
