Join us for a rain barrel class on May 1 at 6:30 pm. A rain barrel is a water system that collects and stores rain water that runs off a roof. This water, if not collected, would flow into the ground or storm drains. A rain barrel is typically a 55 gallon drum with a lid, connected to a roof drain, and has a hose or spout at the bottom. A rain barrel will collect and store water for you until you are ready to use it. Water collected can be used to water plants and lawn, help you conserve water, and can also help lower your water bills during the summer months. If you are interested in making your own rain barrel, join us at a Rain Barrel Workshop on May 1, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at Hughes Park. Pre-registration is required and there is a $30 fee. Download a form here, or contact Amber at 616-669-0200 x 1424 for a registration form.
