Event Description:
The Urban HayDay will be a fun-filled event with a little bit of something for everyone.



There are four 'hubs' to the event.  Specific activities at each of the locations are detailed below.  As additional activities are confirmed, they will be detailed here as well!

Downtown Hub @ Gemmens Home & Hardware:
  • Catch a free downtown hayride
  • Lumberjack Show - with axe throwing & log rolling!
  • Demo Day ~ try out the power equipment at Gemmens!
  • Food vendors
  • Free Activities, Crafts & Games
  • Music & group photos provided by Paradise Entertainment
  • Take a photo as a lumberjack provided by DJ's Pizza
Fall Marketplace Hub @ Hudsonville Farmer's Co-Op:
  • Catch a free downtown hayride
  • Main Stage with live entertainment all day!
  • Craft show & produce vendors
  • Free Activities, Crafts & Games
  • HayDay Hoe-Down starting at 4pm!
Northside Hub @ Hudsonville Family Dentistry, Vitales, Farm Bureau Insurance, Life Family Chiropractic Center, Lannie’s Nail & Hair Salon, Hulst Jepsen Physical Therapy & Allstate
  • Catch a bus from downtown to visit this site!
  • Educational Farm with live animals & shows thanks to Hudsonville Family Dentistry
  • $1 pizza slices, hot chocolate, apple cider, & drink specials at Vitales
  • Face painting, pumpkin painting, Halloween candy & balloons at Vitales

Southside Hub @ Hudsonville Grille, with Lake Michigan Credit Union
  • Chili cook-off (with samples!)- judging at 2 pm ~ vote for your favorite chili

  • $1 breadsticks from 11-5 at Little Caesars
  • 99 cent kids meals with each adult meal purchase at Hudsonville Grille

Other fun activities around town for you to participate in: 
  1. Tailgate Party @ Hudsonville Winery & Pike 51 Brewery:
  • Starting at noon, a tailgate party, complete with burgers and brats, beer & wine
  • Michigan State vs. Purdue (Time TBD)
  • Michigan vs. Indiana (3:30 pm)
  • 21 & older event only. 
  1. Costume Walk & Contest @ Grand Valley Health Plan
  • Starts at Grand Valley Health Plan. 
  • Arrive between 10am & 11am to check in. 
  • Prizes for best kid costume, adult costume, and family costume 
  • Judging and prizes will take place at the conclusion of the walk (at the Main Stage at Farmer's Co-Op)
  1. Pumpkin Carving Competition @ Main Street Bicycle Co
  • Watch artists carve pumpkins from 12-3pm
  • Official pumpkin judging will take place between 3 & 3:30pm
  • Lit pumpkins will remain on display each evening through November 2
  • Sign up to be a carving artist here.
  1. Pie Eating Contest @ Main Stage
  • Join us for a pie eating contest at 4pm at the main stage (Farmer's Co-Op)
  • Three categories - kids (under 12), teens (12-17) and adults (18 & older) will compete to eat a homemade Hudsonville Grille pie the fastest ~ with no hands.
  • Want to participate?  Sign up at the information tent.

  1. Lumberjack Photo Contest @ DJs Pizza
  • Take a photo as a lumberjack (using the cutouts provided) with the DJ's Pizza sign in the background.  Post the photo to their Facebook page, and enter to win a free pizza dinner!
  1. Live Music all day, ending with the first annual HayDay Hoe-Down 
  • Union Guns 12pm-2pm
  • Double Barrel 2pm-4pm
  • Line Dance Lessons with Lia Linedance from 3pm to 6pm!
  • Kent County String Band  with Square Dance Caller Jim Unger  4pm-6pm

Transportation
Transportation is free and will be available from 11am to 5pm
  • Catch a bus from Gemmens by the Fountain of Honor to head north or south to additional activities!
  • Hayrides will run back and forth from Gemmens to Hudsonville Farmer's Co-Op
