Hudsonville Economic Development Director, Jakob Bigard, will present current and future city projects.
 

About our Speaker

Born and raised in Mount Pleasant, Jakob Bigard graduated from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor’s in political science and a master’s in public administration. He previously served as a program manager at GVSU’s Hauenstein Center and worked the last two years for The Right Place, driving job creation and capital investment in advanced manufacturing.

As the City's Economic Development Director, Jakob brings a wealth of experience to the team. He oversees the preparation of plans, policies, and programs to guide the city’s growth and conservation, with an emphasis on establishing a traditional downtown that blends historical charm with modern progress. Collaborating with other department directors, Jakob manages economic development, leads
physical planning and land development efforts, oversees city building and land use regulations, and spearheads housing conservation, rehabilitation, and community development initiatives.
